Roanoke Amateur Radio Club takes great pleasure in announcing our “75th Anniversary.” In honor of this achievement, we have scheduled an Anniversary Celebration, to be held at the Red Cross located at 352 Church Ave. SW, Roanoke Va. on Friday night at 8:00pm, January the 25th of 2008.
For more than 20 years students and other young people have been enjoying the School Club Roundup (SCR). For many it has been their first time on the air. Educators have used the SCR as part of their integration of Amateur Radio into classroom activities.
Each year more than 400,000 Scouts and Guides "get together" over the airwaves for the annual Jamboree-on-the-Air (JOTA). Amateur (ham) Radio offers Scouts the exciting opportunity to make friends in other countries without leaving home.
